This newly constructed home sits on 4 acres of farmland with a pond in an open landscape. The idea is to work with existing elements, keeping the style of the original surroundings, but adding plantings on the site’s periphery. This helps to enclose the space, making it feel more intimate and private.
The wet site conditions posed a challenge; however careful plant selection allowed for the necessary screening at the pond and pleasing design around the house. Understanding of the time involved with the design and planning process, the client prefers to install this plan in stages; over time, creating a well-established, natural surrounding landscape, capable of withstanding environmental challenges on the site.
